I’ve long admired Paul Newman, ever since “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” was my favorite movie. Come to think of it, that movie is still one of my favorites.
But the thing that I admired most was his philanthropy efforts with the Newman’s Own brand and the Hole in the Wall Camps.
I had always heard that all of the profits went to charity. So when I did some research I found that actually, Newman’s Own, Inc. does not make gifts to charity, but Paul Newman, and the Newman’s Own Foundation donate all the profits and royalties after taxes from Newman’s Own, for educational and charitable purposes.
I don’t know what that means now that Paul Newman has passed on. But I do know that Newman’s Own are quality products that my family enjoys and I can always find a coupon for them. So I will continue to buy Newman’s Own and Newman’s Own Organic products.
Because, it all adds up!
